What is ABA therapy?
ABA Therapy (Applied Behavior Analysis) is a scientific approach used to understand and modify behavior. It is widely used to help individuals, especially those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), develop essential skills and reduce challenging behaviors. ABA therapy involves the application of principles of learning theory to encourage positive behaviors and teach new skills.
At Baldwin Behavior Services, we take an assent-based approach to ABA therapy. This means we prioritize the individual's preferences and actively involve them in the therapy process, ensuring that they are willing and engaged in their treatment. Our therapists use techniques such as reinforcement (rewarding positive behaviors) and behavior modification strategies to improve social skills, communication, self-care, and more.
ABA therapy is individualized to meet each person’s unique needs and is often delivered in a one-on-one setting, either at home, school, or in clinical environments. The goal of ABA is to help individuals achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life by reinforcing desirable behaviors and teaching practical life skills in a structured, consistent way.

Behavioral Interventions
Effective behavioral interventions can alleviate challenging behaviors, improve social skills, and enhance overall well-being for individuals with developmental delays.

Personalized Support
Our individualized ABA programs address the unique needs of each client, ensuring a customized approach to improving behaviors and enhancing overall well-being.

Progress Tracking
Progress tracking in ABA therapy helps document and measure the success of interventions, allowing for data-driven decision-making and adjustments to treatment plans.
What does ABA look like with us?
At Baldwin Behavior Services, we make starting ABA therapy simple and supportive. It begins with an intake where we gather key information, verify insurance, and schedule an initial consultation. Then, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) conducts a comprehensive assessment to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your child’s needs.
Once approved by insurance, therapy begins with a trained behavior technician providing 1:1 support, overseen by your BCBA. We focus on meaningful goals—like communication, social skills, and daily routines—while collecting data to track progress. Parents receive ongoing training to ensure success at home and beyond.
While we continuously monitor your child's progress and update their goals, every 6 months, we formally review progress, update goals, and seek reauthorization. When your child is ready, we guide the transition to the next phase—always focused on lasting results for your family.
Insurance and Payment Options
We’re excited to share that we are now in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama!
We’re also in the process of becoming credentialed with additional insurance providers, including Medicaid and Tricare. While that process is underway, we’re proud to serve private-pay clients and families using out-of-network benefits.
At our center, we understand that ABA therapy is a meaningful investment in your child’s future, and we’re committed to keeping our services accessible, transparent, and flexible. Our team is always happy to discuss costs, payment options, and how to seek reimbursement through your insurance provider.
